Alison grew up on a pond with her sister & brother, dogs & cats, vegetable gardens & flower gardens, chickens & ducks, blueberries & strawberries, canoeing & ice skating.
She cannot remember a time before horses.

Through horses she learned love, patience, compassion, communication and the joy that comes from working with your hands, your mind and your heart.

After graduating from college with majors in finance and accounting she entered the corporate world of banking as a commercial lender... but never quite fit in.
In the early 1990's her mom gave her a cassette tape of The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron and told her it would change her life. So of course, she didn't listen ... until sometime in 1996 when she finally realized what she already knew...

the corporate world wasn't for her and she really didn't fit in.
And it did change her life.
She left the big city and moved back to Maine where she always knew she belonged.

She taught herself about glass, fusing and jewelry and it all started because she lost a favorite earring at a time when she was looking for a new way |

of living.
What began as a part time endeavor quickly became a business; people were buying earrings right off her ears!

The wonder and excitement she felt the first time she saw jewelry she had made on someone else continues today.
Alison strives to capture simplicity and light with her jewelry, creating personal adornments to enhance your natural light and beauty. She draws inspiration for her work from the works of her mom and her grandmother, the women and girls who wear her jewelry and the music that is always on as she works.
When she is not working with glass, Alison loves hanging out with her friends, practicing yoga, Vinalhaven, Sunday brunch at Chase's Daily and of course spending time with horses and her dog, Yogi.
